Falling Gracefully

So. There we were. 3000ft up a mountain near St.Anton. The sky was clear. The sun was shining, though not quite as much as my brand-spanking new Go Pro Hero2 - a must have for any extreme sports fan. The camera itself fits in the palm of your hand, and is impact-proof, waterproof and bad cameraman-proof, if the final video is anything to go by!

The night before we arrived the heavens had opened, and over 2ft of glorious white powder had deposited itself onto the mountains, and more was forecast - it was going to be a very good week.

But, as we stood on the side of a mountain planning our route down, there was only one thought on our minds, and that was fresh tracks! For those who don't ski/board, fresh tracks are when you ski where no one else has (since the last snowfall). It's pretty rare to find them in big ski resorts and normally means hiking up a mountain without lifts. We hiked.

Then we fell. Gracefully.

Seven days, one injured knee, and two or three aprés beers later, we had over 10 hours of footage! The video was edited in iMovie over a couple of months, and the music tracks added in post. Incidentally, if you like the tracks they're M83 'Outro' and Deadmau5 'Ghosts n Stuff.

It's worth bearing in mind this was all done without a professional film crew. That said, we think it's worthy of a shout on our blog. We hope you enjoy.
